What Is the Best Way to Lose Fat?


The simple answer is that there is no "best way" to lose fat, as each client will respond differently to a fatloss program. We don't believe in cookie-cutter programs; instead, our personal training is customized to meet your unique fitness needs.


If I lift weights, will I get bigger muscles?


This really depends on your goals. Many women fear getting bulky when lifting heavier weights, but that's a misconception since women don't produce enough testosterone to achieve that look. For those wanting to gain bigger muscles, it’s about a tailored workout regime and adherence to nutrition.


How do I get a flat stomach?


Achieving a flat stomach involves maintaining a low body fat percentage, combined with cardio and a proper diet. For men to see visible abs, they typically need to be at 15% body fat or less, while women usually need to be at 22% or less.


Should I do cardio first or weight training first?


Every coach in our studio in Brampton has their own method, but the workout schedule often dictates what should be done first based on energy consumption. For example, on leg day, I wouldn’t recommend doing cardio first, as I want you to have enough energy for your weightlifting exercises. If energy allows afterward, then cardio can be done.


Do I need to take dietary supplements?


Supplements are not strictly necessary; however, I recommend them if certain nutrients cannot be met through whole foods. For instance, a common supplement I suggest for vegans is protein powder to help with their fitness goals.


How do I get rid of my flabby arms?


The truth is that "spot reducing" or "spot toning" is a myth. We can't control where our bodies oxidize fat, nor can we convert fat into muscle. As we age, skin elasticity decreases, which can lead to what some call "flabby arms." Any exercise that reduces overall body fat will help in losing fat from the arms, just as it benefits other areas of the body.


How often should I work out/lift weights?


Lifting weights every day is perfectly fine, just as running every day is acceptable. Muscles don’t distinguish between lifting weights or running; they simply contract to overcome resistance. It all boils down to your personal fitness goals.
